Product Quality Engineer

Starting date: As soon as possible


For this full-time and permanent position, you will work on improving the quality of current and future Flyability’s products.  In direct report with the Director of Operation you will interact with the Manufacturing, supply chain and R&D teams.  Your work will consist in leading projects, identify needs, (defining quality metrics, reviewing documents and analyzing data), suggest pragmatic solutions and processes, coach the team and align all stake-holders through clear communication.


  • Define Quality Metrics and provide reports
  • Give the green light to validate that a component has been qualified and that provided quality documents are good enough to transfer this products or components from RD to Operation
  • Review all documents being within the Manufacturing Dossier provided by the R&D
  • Define Incoming good QC based on Supplier QC
  • Define Manufacturing QC and define technical requirements for new test benches
  • Manage customer bugs reports and ensure that those requiring actions are followed
  • Ensure all Engineering Change Order (ECO) and Design Change are properly handled and that all stakeholders are applying the changes
  • Decide if a design or a document change should lead to the creation of a new revision of the part
  • Ensuring all functions of our products are tested within a range corresponding to customer requirements
  • Managing quality documentation and processes
  • Transferring quality controls to suppliers when relevant
  • Defining guidelines and coaching engineers on building the quality documentation


  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Micro-engineering or Quality
  • Technical systems knowledge related to electronics and mechanical assembly
  • 5+ years of industry experience in manufacturing or development of hardware devices
  • Working understanding and theory of Quality Methods, Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods
  • Very pragmatic and able to identify the good enough from the good to have
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with clear & consistent communication
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Rigorous, pragmatic and having strong empathy
  • Drive, autonomy, curiosity and team play
